Chasing 137 for a win, openers Rajat Suri and Prad Rokde started aggressively for the Chargers. Rajat Suri fell cheaply in the 2nd over to a brilliant catch by Krish Varma. Rahul Jain joined Prad Rokde and the pair added 37 runs before Rahul Jain was dismissed in the 6th over.
Prad Rokde batted fluently for his 33 off 30 balls, but was run out in the 9th over due to a mix-up with Saurabh Nadupuri. Karthik Golusu then joined Saurabh Nadupuri and the duo added a crucial 56-run stand to keep the Chargers in the hunt.
Saurabh Nadupuri was run out after a fine knock when the Chargers needed 20 runs from the last 3 overs. Yashwanth Gurram and Karthik Golusu continued scoring at a run-a-ball before Yashwanth Gurram was run out as well.
With 7 runs needed off the last over, Kishore Kumar Kolipaka joined Karthik Golusu. It came down to 3 runs required from the last 2 balls when bolwer bowled 2 consecutive wides. With 1 needed off 2 balls, Karthik Golusu was bowled while going for a shot off a full toss ball.
Prerit Dak came in with the Chargers needing 1 run off 1 ball. Off the final ball, Bowler bowled a wide again and Prerit Dak showed great composure and smartly left alone to guide the Chargers to a thrilling 1-wicket win off the last ball.
It was a fantastic game of cricket that ebbed and flowed throughout. The Chargers held their nerve in a tense finish to emerge victorious. A great advertisement for local cricket!
