Batting Failure costed a game for Blasters

Full Scorecard

After having a electriying peformance in the first game, Blasters failed to maintain the same level in their second game. Winning the toss, blasters chose to bat first. They started the innings slow by scoring 6 runs off 3 overs. At the end of 3rd over, opener Srini P was caught out and that gave an opening to Patriots bowlers. Although, PAvan and Manthri tried to stabilize the innings, they did not last long. Pavan got out at 5.3 overs and manthri followed him quickly in the next over. Blasters lost six wikcets in the span of 6 oves and that hurted them the most. Blasters were 39/7 at the end of 11 overs and 50 runs seemsed like an impossible task at that moment. But thanks to the all rounder Krishna Chaitanya's sensible 34(35) which included 4 fours and a six, blasters were able to put up 76 runs on the board.

Second Innings looked more like a formality as Patriots openers gave a good start and they never looked back. Blasters got their first breakthrough at the end of 5th over but Patriots already 34 runs by then. Since the target was very less, patriots batsmen never seemed to be in a hurry and dint give lot of chances to the other side. They were almost cruising towards the target effortlessly when they lost 3 wikcets in 3 overs(8th, 9th and 10th over). That did shake them a bit as they were 57/5 at the end of 10 overs and they needed 20 more runs with 5 wickets in hand. Those three overs brought Blasters back into the game and Kapil Dhod even added to it by bowling a maiden over. Next couple of overs were crucial for both teams but blasters did not capitalize the pressure on the batsmen and pick wickets. At a point, Patriots needed 10 runs in last 6 overs with 5 wickets in hand and Ranjith did a beatiful stumping in vaibhav's over to dismiss the settled batsmen. When blasters were thinging that they can still pull this off, Patriots batsmen hit a 4 and a 6 in consecutive balls to seal the victory for Blasters.
